Limited Submissions

Sponsors may limit the number of applications that an institution may submit for a particular grant program. The Graduate School will announce programs with limited submissions and solicit faculty and/or staff interest. You are responsible for responding by the campus announcement's deadline and expressing your interest in a program.

If you have any questions or identify a program of interest that does not appear below, please alert Steve Atkinson (sda@uwm.edu, x4062) so the program can be announced.

If interest exceeds allowable submissions for an award, the Graduate School will announce an internal competition and set a deadline for preliminary proposals. Follow the procedures in the campus internal announcement on what to include in the pre-proposal.

A sample internal pre-proposal might include:

  • Working title of your proposal
  • Principal investigator name/e-mail address/phone number
  • Co-principal investigators
  • Designate new submission or resubmission
  • Curriculum vita of each investigator
  • Department chair name/e-mail address
  • Dean/Director name/e-mail address
  • Internal preliminary proposal deadline
  • Agency deadline
  • One page budget (salary, benefits, equipment, travel, etc.)
  • Two- to three-page project description, single spaced

Below is a partial list of programs with submission limits, deadlines for notifying the Graduate School, and agency deadlines. Follow the links for detailed information. Notify Steve Atkinson (sda@uwm.edu, x4062) as soon as possible if you intend to submit a proposal.
