RGI third year: February 2008 update

We are pleased to share with you the status of the third year of the Research Growth Initiative (RGI 3) that is currently underway. Proposals submission deadline for RGI 3 was October 8, 2007. We received 137 proposals, requesting approximately $18.2 million in funding to support new research projects. The initial proposal evaluations were conducted by 135 external reviewers using the RGI criteria of quality, reward, and risk. The top-ranked proposals were reviewed by external panels (consisting of fifteen panelists) in Chicago on January 25, 2008.

Final award winners for RGI 3 will be announced in mid-March 2008.
