Wisconsin Distinguished Professors
The Wisconsin Distinguished Professorship program recognizes and supports professorships in areas of vital or emerging economic significance to the State of Wisconsin. Appointed for a five-year term, a Wisconsin Distinguished Professor is an individual whose scholarship and service demonstrates potential impact upon Wisconsin's economy and who would be judged as outstanding by peers and the public alike. Of the 20 professorships currently funded throughout the UW System, seven are at UWM.

- Jain focuses on information system agility through Web services, service-oriented architecture and component-based development.
- Norma Lang, Nursing
- She is internationally known for establishing the Lang model, which measures nursing quality.
- Pradeep Rohatgi, Materials Engineering
- His profound impact on cast metal matrix composites is evident in more than 400 publications and presentations and 20 patents.
